HS2 High Speed Rail line has been moved from passing directly through Stareton, which would have destroyed the ancient hamlet, to a new position which passes through the Agricultural Centre next to Stareton (Stoneleigh Park).

The new position for the multi-track line still cuts the historic Stoneleigh landscape in half. Severing Stoneleigh Abbey from its former estate.  To preserve this historic area of Warwickshire which retains one of best English Abbey sites, the line should now be lowered into a cut and cover tunnel.
